Regional Manager, Africa
Paddy has responsibility for driving performance and maintaining partnerships within our African markets.
Paddy has considerable emerging markets experience from his previous roles with Aureos Capital and working with the UK Shadow Secretary of State for International Development. Paddy was also a director of an international FMCG e-commerce business with offices in UK and Ireland, and is a founding director of a social enterprise operating in East Africa.
Paddy holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin.
Business Development Manager, Africa
Katerina is responsible for defining and executing our expansion strategy across Africa.
Katerina has seven years consulting and senior management experience in the field of development finance and business development in emerging markets. Previous roles include positions as a consultant for the European Commission, the African Development Bank, the United Nations and Development Finance International. She spent two years in East Africa focusing on strategy development and project management, supervising multi-stakeholder projects across the continent. She has co-founded initiatives looking into the expansion of financial and other services to the BoP.
Katerina holds an MBA from INSEAD and an M.A. in Development Economics from the Institute of Social Studies from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Strategic Operations Manager
An is responsible for driving operational improvements and best practices across our African markets, with an additional focus on our global markets for core strategic initiatives.
An brings a depth of experience to the role in strategy, operational improvement, project and change management from his time at The Boston Consulting Group. He has also worked across a range of developing markets in South-East Asia and Africa. Previous roles include impact investing at Acumen, and various fintech start-ups across Australia and the UK.
An has an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor in Commerce (Hon) from the University of Melbourne.
Russell has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Ghana business.
Russell has five years’ sales and operational management experience in South Africa with the security company ADT Security. Previously he held a strategy role with Tyco in London and was a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company.
Russell holds an MA in Economics from University of Cambridge.
Abigail is the HR Manager for BIMA Ghana, responsible for overseeing BIMA Ghana’s HR division.
She is a certified HR professional with over three and a half years of practical HR work experience. Prior to joining BIMA, Abigail was the HR Officer at G-Life Micro Finance Limited. She worked with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited before proceeding to PZ Cussons Ghana Limited where she worked under Employee Relations /Policy & Procedures.
Abigail has a BA in Sociology from the University of Ghana – Legon and a PHR from the Human Resources Certification Institute - USA
Tigo Insurance Business Division Manager
Barbara is responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the Tigo Insurance products and to support the growth of the Tigo Insurance division and maintains strong relations with other Tigo Departments.
Before joining BIMA, Barbara worked with Nestlé Ghana Limited as a marketing and sales development Specialist, and managed Nestlé sachet promoters where she gained significant experience in sales and marketing.
Barbara holds a first class degree in Psychology from University of Ghana.
Call Centre Manager
Marian is responsible for managing the call centre team, increasing sales targets, quality scores and customer experience in Ghana.
Before joining BIMA, Marian worked at Controller and Accountant General’s Department, where she gained significant experience in dealing government contractors and payment of pensions to government workers.
Marian has a BA in Archaeology and Heritage Studies and Sociology from the University of Ghana.
Senior Claims Officer
Nicholas Normeshie joined BIMA in 2012 and was responsible for the setting up of the first in-house Claims Unit.
Before joining, Nicholas worked with Enterprise Life as a Group Underwriting and Claims Officer and Saham Insurance as a Group Distribution Manager.
Nicholas holds a B.A in Economics and Sociology from the University of Cape Coast and has participated in training programs in Insurance and Financial Fraud Detection, Claims Negotiations and Settlement from the Ghana Insurance College and Project Management from GMI.
Business Division Manager- DTC Division
Prior to joining BIMA, Harold managed Tisu, an e-commerce marketplace based in Ghana. Previously, he was an associate consultant at RSG - a boutique consulting and market research firm - specializing in using advanced analytics to answer a range of business questions for Fortune 500 companies. He holds a B.A. in Engineering Sciences and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth College in the United States.
Head of Strategic Partnerships
Agnes Allotey joined BIMA in 2015 as Head of Strategic Partnerships in Ghana where she leads a team of Business Development Managers to sign partnerships and develop and roll out new products to the market.
Before BIMA, Agnes was a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company in with a focus on Strategic Innovation and has experience across strategy, operations and organisational change management. She previously had 10 years of experience with financial news editing from Bloomberg and Dow Jones in New York, New Jersey and Accra.
She holds an MBA from the New York University Leonard Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryn Mawr College in English Literature and a minor in Physics.
Fafa is responsible for managing the Finance, Accounts and tax compliance requirements of Milvik Ghana Limited.
Before joining BIMA, Fafa was an Audit Manager at NMG Consult (now AKA Associates), a private audit firm in Ghana, where she gained vast experience in accounting and audit related areas.
Fafa holds a BSC in Accounting and Information System from the Regent University College of Science & Technology and partly qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants,(CIMA UK).
Romain has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Senegal Business.
Romain has 6 years experience in financial services. He worked for a microfinance institutions network in Paris and completed short-term assignments in Syria, Cameroun and DRC. Then, he launched a commercial bank in Tanzania and supported its fast growth as Commercial Manager. After over 3 years in Dar es Salaam, Romain joined Accenture in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he worked mainly on credit-related issues for top tier banks.
Romain holds Master Degrees in Political Sciences (Sciences Po Rennes) and Economics of Sustainable Development (Paris-Dauphine University). He also completed the European Microfinance Programme from the Solvay Business School in Brussels.
Mobile Insurance Relationship Manager
Ferdinand is in charge of developing new products and maintaining mobile operators partnerships for BIMA Senegal.
Before Joining BIMA Ferdinand worked with Tigo Ghana in the HR department. Ferdinand joined BIMA, Ghana in 2010 as the company's first Agent Network Coordinator. He has been instrumental in developing the agent network model used across the group. Ferdinand then joined the BIMA Tanzania team, were he played a key role launching the operation before moving onto the Senegal office.
Ferdinand holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology and information studies from the University of Ghana.
PAYG Business Division Manager
Khady joined BIMA in 2014 and is responsible for the development of the PAYG business model in Senegal.
Before joining BIMA Khady worked for four and a half years at SONAM Assurance Vie (market leader in life insurance in Senegal) where she headed up the Bank Insurance department. Prior to that she had roles as Head of Key Accounts and Head of Sales. Before SONAM, Khady occupied several positions in marketing in Paris, including working with Sidel (Tetra Pak) Paris.
Khady holds a Masters in Marketing and International Relations from Ecole Supérieure de Gestion et Commerce International in Paris.
Head of Marketing & Customer Experience
Mamadou is in charge of marketing & customer experience in BIMA Senegal.
Before joining BIMA Mamadou worked for 5 years as a strategic planner and account manager at McCann advertising agency group in Senegal & Guinea. During this period Mamadou provided advice in marketing and communication for brands such as Orange Senegal, Orange Guinea, MoneyGram, Shell, Nestle, SANOFI and Societe Générale de Banques en Guinée.
Mamadou joined BIMA Senegal in October 2015 to help in developing products, marketing and ensure a better customer experience.
Mamadou holds a Bachelors degree in communication from Universite libre de Dakar.
Tom has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Tanzanian business.
Before joining BIMA, Tom spent over 4 years working as a management consultant with PwC in London. Focused on strategy and operations, he worked with clients in a variety of sectors across Europe, the Middle East and west Africa. He previously spent time with UNHCR in London and UNRWA in Syria, as well as the strategic communications firm, Finsbury.
Tom holds a BA (Hons) from Nottingham University.
Deputy Country Manager
Ashwin has strategic and operational responsibility for our mobile money business in Tanzania.
Ashwin has 5 years’ experience in Product Development at John Deere. Ashwin did his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, he also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management and an MBA from HEC.
New Business Manager
Donald is responsible for the development and launch of new partnerships in Tanzania.
Before joining BIMA, Donald managed the health care service provider network at Strategis Insurance (T) Ltd, where he gained a breadth of experience in health insurance, relationship management and negotiation. In this role, Donald worked with over 350 health care providers all over Tanzania.
He has been at BIMA for over 3 years, and in this time he has coordinated the successful launch of 3 of BIMA’s products.
HR General Manager
Anna is an HR Generalist for BIMA Tanzania in charge of our HR function.
Prior to joining BIMA she worked at Singita Grumeti Reserves as HR Officer and then as their Training and Development Manager. She subsequently worked with Larfage as an HR manager.
Anna holds a Bachelor Degree in Law From Tumaini University
Danielle has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Ugandan business.
Before joining BIMA, Danielle built and managed the largest UK government-funded private sector reform project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Previous to this, she worked for Javelin Group, gaining strong experience in consumer-facing and technologically innovative markets. Danielle brings additional experience from her five years volunteering for Kiva.org microfinance.
Danielle holds a First Class degree in Modern Languages (French, Italian) from the University of Oxford.
Deputy Country Manager
Prior to joining BIMA, Tim studied theology at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, held fellowship positions with PSG Group and Silvertree Capital in Cape Town, and worked in various roles at Rocket Internet in Ghana and France.
He began his career in institutional fixed income sales and holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, USA.
Saidi has worked with Bima Uganda since its launch in 2014. His main focus with Bima Uganda is to develop, advise and implement policies, procedures and practices relating to the effective use of employees.
He’s an experienced Human Resource and Organisational Development Specialist. He has previously worked at Girl Up Initiative Uganda as a Human Resource Officer and South West Water, Exeter as an Organisational Development Consultant.
Saidi holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from London South Bank University. He’s also a member of the Human Resource Management Association of Uganda (HRMAU).
Simon is responsible for general claims management in Uganda.
Before joining BIMA, Simon held several Insurance positions gaining competence in underwriting, claims handling and management, Broking and Risk Management. He has worked in the insurance industry in Uganda for the last 12 years both at underwriting and Brokerage Level with Niko Insurance Uganda Limited, Chancery Wright insurance Brokers (U) Ltd and Rock Insurance Services Limited.
Simon has a BC in Finance from Makerere University, COP from the insurance institute of Uganda and is pursuing Certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute London.
Head of New Business Division
Patrick brings to the team over eight years of experience in finance, new client acquisition & retention as well as new business setup across Africa, mainly in the Banking & Energy sectors.
Patrick previously worked at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda and DFCU as a Financial Adviser. Patrick has vast experience in working with start-up companies, coming from over 4 years of working at BBOXX Capital as Business Development Manager and Country Manager, then later working with Meridian Holdings and GO Solar Africa where he was responsible for spearheading the setup and implementation of strategy and operations.
Patrick Tusingwire holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Makerere University Business School in Kampala, Uganda.
Business Development Manager
Joachim has over six years of experience in telecom distribution & digital financial services.
Joachim was part of the initial team that rolled out MTN mobile money in Uganda. As Corporate Account Manager, Joachim played a leading role in the product design and commercial roll-out of new mobile money products.
Prior to joining BIMA Uganda, Joachim worked for Uganda Telecom as Corporate Sales Manager, Ezeemoney as Business Manager and Bicco Forex as Sales & Marketing Manager.
Joachim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
Rebecca Okori brings extensive experience in her role as Accountant with Milvik Uganda.
She is responsible for preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records and reports.
Rebecca previously worked in diverse fields such as the Telecommunications, Education and Electricity Regulatory Authority.
In addition, she is a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom and also full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPA-U).
