Marie provides strategic direction for BIMA's new product design and development. She also supports implementation and roll out of new products within local markets.
Marie joined BIMA from CDC Group, the UK government’s development finance institution, supporting the launch of new private equity funds across Africa. She has extensive experience in management consulting, development finance, and the nonprofit sector. Marie's previous roles include positions at the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Zambia, and with the internationalconsulting group Bain & Company in Chicago.
Marie holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Global Health Manager
Jose joined BIMA in 2016 as Global Health Manager.
Before joining BIMA, Jose started out his career as a practicing clinician in Spain, where he founded his own network of healthcare clinics before joining McKinsey as a health sector practice expert. He’s joining us from Telefonica where he was most recently a director on their global eHealth team.
Jose holds a MD from the School of Medicine at the University Complutense and an MBA from Kellogg.
Elisabetta is BIMA’s Graphic Designer, currently working on a range of global projects including creating graphics for BIMA’s website and making all collateral material as beautiful as it can possibly be.
Before joining BIMA, Elisabetta has previously worked with an award-winning design agency in the UK, with clients such as BBC, CNN, Daily Mail, Eurostar, VisitBritain and Euronews. Followed by 2 years as in-house designer for Surrey and Hampshire County Council, creating successful campaigns for the public sector.
Elisabetta holds a MA Degree in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication and a BA (Hons) from the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica - Venezia
Global Financial Products Manager
Richard joined BIMA in 2017 as Global Financial Products Manager. He works with local market teams to develop and pilot new savings and credit products.
Before joining BIMA, Richard was a consultant at Finalta, a specialist group within McKinsey & Company that provides benchmarking and best practice insights to banks and insurers. He has previously held roles with HSBC and KPMG.
Richard holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham
Global Insurance Products Manager
Shamim joined BIMA in 2017 as Global Insurance Products Manger. He works with local market teams to optimize existing insurance product terms as well as pricing, developing and piloting new insurance products.
Prior to joining BIMA, Shamim started his career at Willis Towers Watson, as a life insurance actuarial student in 2002, switching over to general insurance in 2005. He then went on to do a stint within actuarial recruitment before joining ArgoGlobal, a Lloyds of London Syndicate, where he served in a number of general insurance actuarial roles covering reserving, capital modelling, risk management, reinsurance pricing and most recently liability pricing.
Shamim holds a BSc in Mathematics & Economics from the London School of Economics. He gained his FIA actuarial qualification in 2009.
